If you've ever seen a photo of a wonderful event on Facebook, a ceilidh, a food market, an outdoor concert and realised it happened last weekend, you're not alone. I’ve heard that story over and over again when I was talking to people across Dumfries and Galloway. Events were happening. People wanted to go. They just never found out in time.
That's why I'm building Events DG.
I want to create one place; a single, trusted, easy-to-use home where everything happening across Dumfries and Galloway lives. Music nights in Stranraer. Walking festivals in Newton Stewart. Craft workshops in Castle Douglas. Heritage events in Langholm. All of it, in one place, searchable, free.
Because the problem isn’t that there's not enough going on in D&G. The problem is that finding it means checking ten different Facebook groups, visiting a dozen venue websites, and hoping someone mentions it to you at the right moment. Most of the time, that doesn't happen.
Events DG is my answer to that. A central directory of events across the region, free to search, always up to date, always open. Whether you're looking for something to do this weekend, planning a visit to the region, or just curious what's happening in your area, it's all here.
I started building this because I live here, and I love this region, and I believe it deserves better. I hope you think so too.
