Step into a world of mystery, imagination and make-believe in this creative workshop inspired by the theatre costume exhibition at Shambellie House.
Children will discover how masks have been used throughout history in theatre, festivals and masquerades to transform ordinary people into extraordinary characters. But who will they become? Will they be a fearless explorer, a magical woodland guardian, a daring pirate, a mysterious creature or a royal hero?
Using a papier mâché half mask as their starting point, children will paint, decorate and personalise their creation with a colourful selection of feathers, ribbons, fabrics and other decorative materials, bringing their character to life.
