To celebrate the 270th Anniversary of the Wanlockhead Miners’ Subscription Library, at The Museum of Lead Mining, Wanlockhead, we invite you to - ‘Books Open - for you to read and enjoy’ Our Library books are historic and special. They need to be handled with care, but you can come and have a read! • Buy a special ticket, on-line or at Reception, and collect your it from Reception on the day • Choose two numbers on the ticket • At the Library, discover which two books match your two numbers • Two historic books will be issued to you, with face-to-face ‘How to Handle’ guidance.
Books Open sessions are strictly limited to 6 readers. Adults only.
Books Open Days are:
3rd Friday at 13.00 and 3rd Sat 11:15 in April, May, September 2026
3rd Friday at 13.15 and 3rd Sat at 10:15 in June, July, August 2026
